The game Blood is a concentrated cocktail of black humor, cruelty, gore and action movie atmosphere translated by Volodarsky. The game simply included all the then popular cliches – revenge, love, resurrection from the dead, shootouts and jokes in the spirit of "Die Hard".

How do you like showdowns with crowds of fanatics and hordes of demons in the middle of an amusement park?? How do you like the prospect of capturing and clearing a train, with its subsequent redirection simply to the center of a busy city?? And fights with gargoyles in the middle of a pastoral summer camp, on the territory of which the corpses of boy scouts are scattered everywhere? Blood was the first game to abandon the traditional “secret military bases”, “Alien nests” and “space stations” in favor of very specific everyday places.

The arsenal matched the style. This never happened before or after Blood. Twin Thompson submachine guns easily and cheerfully turned into mincemeat every living thing within sight. The flare gun gave us many pleasant moments, killing most enemies on the first hit. The sawn-off shotgun very quickly increased the lead content in the bodies of all nearby enemies to a critical level. Mines, dynamite, napalm thrower, aerosol can – Caleb combined it with a lighter, just like action heroes. Voodoo doll, poking with pins into which enemies made bo-bo. In a word, it was easy, pleasant and incredibly fun to destroy evil spirits with the help of the Blood arsenal.

And there was so much evil here. Moreover, unlike later shooters, Blood did not have traditional “whipping boys” – the weakest enemies that can be killed with one sneeze. Even the most ordinary cultist could, based on the situation (remember, it was 1997) choose a weapon for himself – from a shotgun to a machine gun, from explosives to a flamethrower. At first, the demonic opponents killed Caleb with one blow – until you get the hang of it and develop tactics against them. What is the automatic health recovery?? What are you talking about? And then there were small copies of Caleb, jumping out of any broken mirror and running across the floor on the fingers of a human hand, which could strangle our hero.

On top of that, Blood was also great for its online mode. In addition to battles with other players, it was possible to go through the story campaign together – this mode supported up to eight players. With a corresponding increase in the number of enemies, ammunition and weapons. I still remember missions where five or six Calebs stood back to back, fighting off waves of enemies. This is where the sense of community was developed!

Finally, a few words about the technical side of the game. If you had a sound card in 1997 (still a luxury in those days), you could enjoy a very good soundtrack by composer Mark McWain. The level design deserves all sorts of praise – the developers did not allow Blood to have a single uninteresting corridor. Bloody stains, corpses, traps, destroyed houses and crucified civilians – literally every centimeter here reminds you that a bloody bacchanalia is happening in the world. Finally, Caleb himself constantly commented on what was happening, making caustic remarks about enemies, weapons, locations and even the player’s actions. The very case when the game had a real “soul”.

The first part of Blood was virtually devoid of flaws and sold great. After a short time, a couple of additions were released for it with new levels and weapons. Finally, in 1998, the second part, Blood 2: The Chosen, was released. The sequel showed us better graphics, dumber AI of the enemies who were simply chest-thumping the gun, lost its charm, and got rid of the lion’s share of black humor. Finally, these two components have completely disappeared from the game about blood and cruelty. And they forgot about the great game. In 2008, Blood’s “father” Nick Newhard went to work for Big Fish Games, a company specializing in casual games, so there is practically no chance of reviving the imperishable hit. However, it is possible that, like its main character, one day this Great Game will rise from the grave and heartily pour modern crafts.

Boiling about painful things. Some thoughts on the NFS series. Added material.

Watching a gameplay video based on the alpha version of NFS Most Wanted and posted by EA, after watching it, most of the loyal fans are tempted to start yelling, “The bridge is no longer a cake and generally shit!»

I’ve been thinking for a long time about what EA has been doing with the NFS series lately. Finally the moment came when their abundance prompted me to write my first, modest topic.
Before writing, I sat for a long time and tried to collect my thoughts in a heap, so that you could follow the logical chain of my thoughts and thus everything I wrote was not a simple set of sentences.

I decided to start with those parts of the series in which, in my opinion, the quality level began to slide.

We’ve all seen the latest parts of NFS. Since the time of ProStreet, speculations have begun to circulate on the Internet that the series has long since died out and there is nothing to catch here anymore. Carbon, which in a sense was a clone of Most Wanted, but with slightly changed gameplay and significantly changed game style. If before Most Wanted the game still adhered to one style, then after Carbon (including it) complete bedlam began. Unfortunately, I can’t name its exact reason, but it starts from a completely reasonable and understandable desire of the developers to try something new, to revive the already considerable interest in the series. Since then, the series has split into two branches: arcades and purebred simulators.

Carbon became a good imitator of Most Wanted, but unlike its gangster brother, it became a kind of dude in the series. Glitter everywhere possible, chrome, eternal night, strange crosses in the O_o menu, the worst (in my music lover’s opinion) playlist in the series, the predominance of purple colors… The system of dividing the city into districts, taken from its predecessor, added an interesting gang system, which was a distinctive feature of this part.

Pro Street, which was later succeeded by Shift and Shift 2, was a rather bold step, because the basis of the game was completely changed – illegal racing. The management model has been radically changed. It was something new and revolutionary. Unfortunately, not all fans were for this turn of events and Pro Street gained fame as a boring and uninteresting episode in the fate of the NFS series. Although, in my opinion, it’s in vain. I personally liked the game despite the very tense plot (which doesn’t seem to exist).

Undercover… misunderstanding… was also planned as a clone of MW, but it didn’t work out. This is where the series ends for me. It was in this part that the killer arcade physics model first appeared. There was also no tuning as such here. The plot was not bad, but unfortunately the gameplay spoiled everything. There were some good game modes, but they were not implemented (for example, catch-up on the highway).

After the wildest faila, Shift appeared in the series. This part was the ideological successor to Pro Street and, oddly enough, was a great success, although no one believed in it. Good gameplay, excellent implementation of the car’s behavior on the road, original menu, it was a fresh breath of air for the dying series. Shift performed well on the market and cunning EA took note. Now, if something happened, they always had a plan B… it would be better not to have it – they would work better.

The Run was promoted more than any other part. A newfangled battle engine screwed to it with a file, an exciting plot, as we were promised, good physics, a variety of tracks and (!) the opportunity, albeit in quick times, to control the main characters! Well, who could not buy this?. That’s right – oldfags have long stopped believing in the riotous colors of teasers and advertising aimed at the younger generation. I played it very little, but I managed to notice that the part has all the same chronic problems of the previous parts – simplicity of physics and lack of atmosphere.

Most Wanted. For some reason it reminds me of The Run. In the video we see the same easy drift, one of the most important elements of car control. Previously, we had to fight with the car on turns, come up with trajectories for entering the turn and the moment of descent/pressing the throttle, but now..
I liked the design of the moment the race ends, namely the very original tilt of the camera to the side, in my opinion a well-implemented feature. I consider icons all over the screen to be somewhat unnecessary, since they kill the atmosphere of the game and prevent you from feeling like you’re driving, the file on almost every cop next to you is highlighted, pictures of guard cameras, in my opinion, are out of place. Just as it seems to me a bad idea to implement multi-meter auto jumps (I immediately feel the Criterionists with their Burnaut Paradise)

The result is sad: EA members don’t have anything on Frostbite – everything works out, but for some reason they don’t bring anything fresh. Criterionists are fixated on Burnaut, which itself is quite good, but its gameplay features are only good in it, but not in NFS. In my opinion, this is one of those cases when you don’t need to lose your head in the pursuit of innovation, you need to respect the classics and take into account the positive experience of parts of this wonderful series.

The topic is based solely on materials from the gameplay video of EAshnikov. This is the first impression that the game makes and I am more than sure that it can change both for the better (I would be glad) and for the worse. Unfortunately, it does not seem possible to create a more complete analysis due to the small amount of material on the game.

Against the backdrop of waning interest in graphics, new problems suddenly surfaced. It turned out that after the game was launched, the developers removed many skins for players without warning. This caused dissatisfaction among those who had already paid for additional images. The decision sparked another wave of criticism as fans felt deceived.

And then came a new hype – zombie. Yes, zombies have appeared in Bodycam, a game with an emphasis on realism. Many players were, to put it mildly, surprised by this decision. However, now, several months after its release, we can say that the developers have worked on the bugs.

Honestly, I can’t judge what the game was like at launch – I didn’t live in those times. But in its current state Bodycam works as it should. Personally, I didn’t have any stutters, stutters or performance issues. Everything starts quickly, the game runs smoothly, and even in the most dynamic scenes there is no feeling that the hardware can’t handle it.

Bodycam: weapons and grenades in the hands of a crooked player

The choice of weapons in Bodycam is neither more nor less, just what you need. It doesn’t have time to get boring, and the sensations from each barrel are really different – the developers tried their best here. The first hours of the game are pleasantly surprising: there is no monotony, even if you don’t think about tactics and shoot “for fun”.

But grenades… well, that’s a different story. To be honest, just as I didn’t know how to use them properly in other shooters, I didn’t figure it out here either. But let’s be honest: the problem is clearly not in the game, but in the author’s crookedness. Apparently, my path with grenades is the path of eternal fiasco.

Bodycam: there are bugs, but you can live with it

Of course, there are bugs in Bodycam, but not such that you want to smash the keyboard on the table. Something small and often even funny: an enemy got stuck in the textures, a zombie decided to hang in the air, or objects suddenly began to levitate. Well, yes, it happens, but there is nothing to be sad about.

The main thing is that all this does not break the game. You’d rather laugh than be upset. If bugs don’t scare you, then Bodycam is quite comfortable to play. And if you do find something serious, just tell yourself that this is a feature, not a bug.

Bodycam in December 2024: a couple of evenings and back to regular shooters

Bodycam is like going to an expensive attraction: impressive, but obviously not suitable for every day. It’s interesting to play for 10–20 hours – you get stuck in the graphics, study the zombies and laugh at their unexpected appearance. And then there comes a time when you want to return to the good old shooters without “realism” and brain wracking.

Bodycam’s graphics are impressive, but they are the reason why the game is not for everyday gameplay. After a couple of hours in this ultra-realistic world you start to get tired. The textures are gorgeous, the effects are amazing, but at some point the brain asks: “Give me something simpler.”!»

And then hands reach out to the native swing: CS, Squad, Arma, Tarkov. This is where everything is familiar – a simple picture, clear gameplay, and no need to strain your eyes, wondering if it’s the shadow of a tree or an enemy in the bushes. Bodycam is like a good movie: it’s great to watch, but you’re unlikely to play it every night.

Eh bien, dans ce sujet, j’ai déjà écrit et j’écrirai mes courtes opinions sur une variété de films. Tout cela sera beaucoup plus souvent que les avis. Une nouvelle opinion apparaît chaque semaine, et en conséquence sa discussion par vous.
Je vais commencer. Je serai heureux si vous partagez votre opinion. Films trouvés dans ces articles de calibres différents. C’est le quatrième post. La discussion précédente était assez saturée. Mais le film a été choisi très populaire (Au fait, voici une discussion sur les blogs.Jeu d’étoile.ru / topic / 6013 /).
Cette semaine, à l’ordre du jour, le film "L’Imagiarium du Dr Parnassus", qui à mon avis, a été sans réserve oublié et manqué.

So Imaginarium. Quelqu’un en apprend après https://casinoseven.fr/ avoir lu cet article, quelqu’un l’attend avec appréhension toutes ces années. Mais on peut dire avec certitude, c’est un film très extraordinaire et envoûtant. Cela vous fait juste jeter vos idées sur un mauvais ou un bon film. Et offre sa propre option, inhabituelle, envoûtante et bonne délirante. Tout ce monde parfait que tout le monde a dans sa tête. Pour tout le monde qu’il ne répétera pas. Eh bien, je ne peux pas, pour ne pas noter que tout de même dans ce film, Hit Ledger a le dernier rôle, et quoi! Le héros est très intéressant, et avec son apparition dans le film, les événements sont sensiblement rafraîchis et traînent dans une blague.

Il convient de noter que l’intrigue n’est toujours pas la principale chose pour ce film. Cependant, les auteurs ont honnêtement essayé de le rendre très dense afin que le dénouement ne devienne clair qu’à la fin. Tout ne s’est pas passé, mais ce qui s’est passé, Duck est son flux. C’était très intéressant d’écouter le Dr Parnassus. Bien que, en tant que personnage, Parnassus lui-même ne représente rien de spécial. C’est beaucoup plus intéressant de regarder son ennemi, et en même temps le meilleur ami, le diable. C’est le personnage, le caractère de canard. Chacun de son apparence est accompagné de quelque chose de fou. Et comme c’est cool! L’un des meilleurs personnages récemment au cinéma. Des autres, il convient de noter bien sûr le coup de Ledger, qui n’est toujours pas clair au maximum, c’est un gars ou non.

Soit dit en passant, sur la façon dont l’organisation organique dans une parcelle commune, les acteurs remplaçant le grand livre dans l’imagium lui-même. Eh bien, Depp, comme toujours, joue un moineau, Jude Law essaie de jouer le succès de Ledger. Ici, Collin Farrell était vraiment rappelé. Mais de la partie parce qu’il a eu de la chance avec le rôle. Il joue déjà le coup le plus émotionnel du Ledger, à la fin. Et nous pouvons dire qu’il a fait face. Et en général, ils ne provoquent pas d’irritation. Et parfois tu ne peux pas se distinguer les uns des autres. Les artistes de make -up ont essayé de gloire.

Je voudrais dire sur le notoire 3D de ce film. Eh bien, ces minutes dans l’imagium sont fabriquées si envoûtantes et uniques que vous vous demandez. Et ce fut le premier exemple après l’avatar lorsque le film n’a pas été réalisé pour le bien de la 3D, mais 3D fonctionne au profit du film.

Imaginarium est en fait difficile à aimer. Si vous n’acceptez pas de vous asseoir pendant environ trois heures devant l’écran, d’écouter les dialogues et de regarder parfois les plus beaux paysages de nos consciences avec vous, alors vous n’aimez peut-être pas le film. Vous pouvez également perdre rapidement le fil de l’intrigue. Autrement dit, arrêtez de comprendre ce qui est fait dans ce film en général. Il y a un sens dans l’imagiarium, des pensées sur le bien et le mal, la relation des parents et des enfants, un gars et une fille. Tout le monde peut s’en tenir à lui que le sien peut et veut obtenir. Je considère ce film comme une familiarisation obligatoire de tout le monde. Si vous ne l’aimez pas, vous comprendrez que vous ne devriez pas aller dans de tels films au cinéma et dépenser de l’argent en vain, puis chier dans les commentaires que le film n’a pas réussi. Je mettrai un film de moi-même personnellement 9/10, Et ce sera sur ma conscience. J’ai dit pratiquement rien sur les lacunes. Oui, et je ne vais probablement pas. Pourquoi marquer la tête avec un tel non-sens quand un leader vivant est à l’écran. Imaginarium Dr Parnassus – Smart, beau.
